Cigar & Cocktail Pairings That Will Make You Drool

Ladies and gentlemen, when you’re faced with the dilemma of pairing drinks with cigars that ease you into the night, you should always match relative weights and flavor profiles. If you have a full-bodied cigar, you need a full-bodied drink. Delicate drinks like champagne, on the other hand, call for much lighter cigars.

It may take you some time to really understand what we’re talking about. You don’t need to understand though – just try and experience our favorite pairings and choose the ones you like the best!

1.     Dark ‘N’ Stormy + Romeo San Andres

This pairing is our perfect example of an after-dinner treat. This cigar from the Romeo & Julieta series is a spicy yet chocolaty wonder that requires a drink with somewhat of a kick. Make a Dark ‘N’ Stormy with the Barceló Imperial Onyx and try and prove us wrong.

2.     Old Fashioned + Macanudo Inspirado Red

New meets old with our second favorite whiskey and classic bourbon cocktail. If you try the Bulleit Bourbon Frontier Whiskey, you’ll find that it complements the spicy Macanudo Inspirado Red. If you didn’t already know, Macanudo uses aged tobacco that is derived from volcanic soil. The end result is divine and will leave you craving for more!

3.     Gin and Tonic + Highclere Cigar

In this duo, you will be tickled with the complexity and reminiscence of a strong and dark cigar and the approachable creaminess of gin and tonic. You can kick back with a beautiful glass of Dom Pérignon and the creamy and nutty draw of the Highclere Cigar. Another one of our favorite after-dinner specials!

4.     Imperial Highball +Cao Amazon Anaconda

We saved the best for last! The Cao Amazon Anaconda is a spicy cigar with Braganca leaf filler and it seems as if it was made for the Barceló Imperial! The dried fruit, cocoa and earthy notes from your cigar will blend perfectly with the cocktail’s flavors.
